Our Operations - Plantation Development
The company acquired abandoned rubber and palm plantations in the Bandundu and Equateur provinces. The rubber plantations make up approximately one-third of the land holding and actively produce rubber to supply the new natural rubber factory in Dima.
While these old plantations are being tapped, nurseries are underway to re-establish areas with new hybrid rubber trees to ensure sustainability and, as part of the on-going rehabilitation of these plantations, palm continues to be planted in both the Dima and Kwilu estates.
The plantation development programme extends to afforestation and commercial forestry. Principally, the savannah regions in which the company operates are ideal for commercial forestry practices and the few indigenous timber outcrops in riverine areas will be protected in line with the company’s corporate responsibility approach and environmental policy.
